Eleven people, two coasts, one drawing board.
Atelier NERA is an independent interior architecture practice founded in Mumbai in 2014. Since 2018 we have also kept a workshop in Assagao, Goa, where the joinery, the ceramics and most of the arguing happen.
We work on interiors, buildings, hospitality and objects, and we do not separate those categories internally — the same people draw a stair detail and a vessel rim in the same week. The practice stays deliberately small so that every project passes through the same hands from survey to snagging.
We take on four or five projects a year. We turn down more than that, usually because the programme will not survive the budget or because the client wants a look rather than a building. We would rather say so early.
